Brevard - Jennifer Prestwood Borden went to heaven, just three days short of her 77th birthday, on January 28, 2023, at her home in Brevard, NC. She suffered for several years from Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy, and the last two years have been extremely difficult for her and for her family.

Jennifer was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 31, 1946. She spent her childhood in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where her parents met while working on the Manhattan Project. She was the Home Coming Queen at Los Alamos High School, and graduated in 1963. Jennifer attended the University of Colorado for a year, before transferring to the University of New Mexico. She graduated from UNM in 1968 with a degree in elementary education. At UNM she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and Little Sisters of Minerva.

On August 17, 1968 Jennifer married, her husband of 54 years, R. Barry Borden, and they spent their married life living in many locations. Jennifer was an elementary school teacher for six years. She was a wonderful homemaker, excellent cook, and talented interior decorator. She moved to Brevard seven years ago to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She was a super spicy firecracker who will be greatly missed.

Jennifer was predeceased by her parents: Rene J. Prestwood and Sara Dowson Prestwood. She is survived by: Husband Barry Borden of Brevard, NC; Daughter, Tracy Geor; Son in Law Raphe Geor; Grandsons Jaden & Shaymos Geor; Granddaughter Ngaio Geor all of Pisgah Forest, NC. By two Sisters: Linda Anderson and her Husband Allan Anderson of Los Alamos, NM; Patti Cole and her Husband Eric Cole of Santa Fe, NM.
