Penrose- Jerry Michael "Mike" McCall, 62, a lifelong member of Transylvania County went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2016 after a brief illness. Mike was a Vietnam 101st Airborne Veteran who loved God, family and country. He was a mechanic over 45 years. He worked at Olin/Ecusta for 20 years and served with the Transylvania County Honor Guard for over 18 years. He was the son of the late John Bolen "JB" and Reba Ball McCall Gillespie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Marshall McCall and numerous children both natural born and "adapted" and his precious twin grandsons. He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Linda Frady, sons; Mark of Moonville, SC and Bobby of Hendersonville; daughters, Barbara Smith of Piedmont, SC, Jenny (Scott) Boggs of Central, SC and Libby McCall of Penrose; mother in law, Alma Frady, two brother in laws; Glenn Frady and Cal (Eunice) Frady; nieces, Alissa (Kelly) Cook, Brandy (Kevin) Reynolds; nephews, Matt Frady, Michael Switzer and Joe (Sheena) Switzer; six granddaughters and one grandson, many great grandchildren and many children who blessed his life with their presence; aunt; Ruth Barton and uncle Harold Ball, numerous cousins and his brothers and sisters of the Transylvania County Honor Guard. A celebration of life will be held 3pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Transylvania County Honor Guard conducting military rites. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St Jude's Children's Hospital, 807 E.
