Jesse H. Snyder, age 87, of Etowah passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012. He was born August 23, 1924 in Transylvania County to the late Harvey S. Snyder and Lottie Holden Snyder. In addition to his parents, Mr. Snyder was also preceded in death by his sisters Thelma Wilson, Ruth Harrison, Florence Bell, Mildred McCall and Novalene Snyder. Mr. Snyder was a decorated veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy and a member of Etowah Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Bell Snyder; one brother, Jimmy Snyder and wife Ardith of Etowah, sons Ronald Jesse Snyder and wife Pamela of Soperton, GA, and Kenneth Michael Snyder and wife Kelly of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Brandon S. Snyder and wife Heather of Salem, VA, Leah Marie Snyder of Raleigh, NC and Yates Gregory Snyder of Raleigh, NC and great-grandchild Caroline Sydney Snyder of Salem, VA. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday June 8, 2012 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Brian Henderson. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 11:00am until noon at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike McCall, Bruce Bell, Joe White, Doug Owens, John love and Cline Roberts. Other members of his Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorial donations may be made to the Etowah Baptist Church
