Jo Anne Owen Adams, age 77 of Balsam Grove, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2019. She was born on July 17, 1941 in Transylvania County to the late Luther T. Owen and Frances Chastain Owen. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Morris Wayne Adams, two brothers, Charles Lawter and Gary Owen, and one sister, Janice Owen. Mrs. Adams loved reading and watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and she was formerly the Manager of Sales for the Cradle of Forestry Interpretive Assoc. Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Adams of Balsam Grove; three sons, David Adams and wife Rhonda of Kansas, Chuck Adams and wife Krystal of Pisgah Forest, and Lee Adams of Balsam Grove; two sisters, Wanda Ledford of Lake Toxaway and Brenda Gerczak of Kitty Hawk, NC; one brother, James Owen of Newnan, GA; nine grandchildren, Austin, Courtney, Heather, Dustin, Christina, Jon, Michael, Matthew and Brynne, a number of great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Friday, June 14, 2019 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
