Brevard - JoAnn Hall Hunter, 83, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lee "Bob" Hunter of Brevard and daughter of the late Alda and Cynthia Hall of Brevard.

JoAnn was one of the first teacher assistants hired by the Transylvania County Schools in September 1973 at Brevard Elementary School; she worked there until her retirement in June 2000. She was a graduate of Rosman High School, member of Cathey's Creek Baptist Church, an avid reader, fan of Golden State Warriors basketball, and lover of life. She was the best wife, mother, educator, and friend whose love, humor, and generosity will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Lee Hunter of Etowah, NC, and Robert Christopher Hunter (wife Kirsten) of San Francisco, CA; sisters Marvita Galloway of Rosman, NC, and Linda Morgan (husband Ron) of Greenville, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Moody Connolly Funeral Home, to be followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.

Her children would like to thank friends and family for their thoughts, love, and prayers, and give special thanks to the staff at Mission Hospital for their expert and compassionate care.
