JoAnn Norton, 78 of Pisgah Forest passed away Thursday July 8, 2021. She was born the youngest of seven children to Walter and Docia Austin on August 23, 1942. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers William "Snook" Austin and James Austin, and her sisters Helen Cochran and Margaret Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John B. Norton; her son Dean and his wife Cherie and their children, Curtis Turner and Courtney Barnwell; her daughter Kim Meany and her husband John and their children Beau and Brett Meany; four great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Bryce Barnwell, Lee Turner and Colton Meany; her brother Harold Austin; her sister Christine Hamilton; several nieces and nephews. JoAnn retired from Brevard Insurance Agency after 29 years of service. She was the Avon Lady for 35 years, still making deliveries in person. She and her husband were members of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church and were co-chairs of the Transylvania Cruisers car club. Services will be held at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church. Visitation is Friday, July 16th, 2021 from 5-7 pm and funeral services are Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at 2pm with Reverends David Spray and Guy Smith officiating.
