– Joanne Allison Barnett, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at The Oaks of Brevard. She was born in Transylvania County to the late Claude and Ina Zachary Allison. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nan Walker, twin sister Mary James Gibbs, and son Jeffrey McCrary. Survivors include her husband Richard Barnett, daughters Anita Cagle and husband Larry, Rhonda Holcombe and husband Roger, son Gene McCrary and wife Barbara, all of Brevard; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one special niece, Robin Patterson. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Friday, August 16, 2013 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Owens and Rev. Dean West officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Koala Adult Daycare in Brevard.
