Joanne Tinsley Mathis Pisgah Forest – Joanne Tinsley Mathis, 63, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at her residence. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Joe F. Tinsley and Gladys Teague Tinsley. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Danny Tinsley, and a nephew. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Mission. Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Gene Mathis; daughter, Danielle Fitzgerald of Pisgah Forest; sisters, Barbara Gail Tinsley and Debbie Tinsley both of Brevard; brothers, Donnie Tinsley of Brevard and John J. Tinsley and wife June of Fountain Inn, SC; grandson, Anthony Fitzgerald of Pisgah Forest; brother-in-law, Harold Mathis and wife Sarah of Pisgah Forest; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 23, 2011 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens.
