John Ross Acklin, age 77 of Rosman died Tuesday February 15, 2011 at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was born August 31,1933 in Dauphin County PA. to the late John Melton Acklin and Alma Louise Ross Acklin. Mr. Acklin retired from Merck Industries he was the owner of Christian Films Interstate and a realestate saleperson. He served in the U.S. AirForce. Survivors include his wife Marlene Acklin of the home, one daughter; Peggy Longshore and husband Frank of Prosperity SC. One sister; Sue Hutchinson of New Mexico and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday February 19, 2011 at 10:00am at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Allen Thompson. Interment will follow at the North Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. The family will receive friends from 9:00am until 10:00am prior to the service on Friday.
