Hendersonville – Pastor John Wayne Arnold, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2016.

He was the son of the late Clarrie and Bertie Mae Rainer Arnold. He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Carl, Ed and William Arnold and sisters; Mary Powell, Betty Jean Bennett, Joann Hesters and Thelma Louise Arnold.

Pastor John was the former minister of God's Tabernacle in Penrose for many years. He loved his family and especially adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening. He was a good man with a big heart and always graciously served others.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years; Mary Devore Arnold, son; John Arnold, Jr. and wife Shannon of Pisgah Forest, daughter; Priscilla Riddle of Brevard, brother Oliver Arnold and wife Faye of Douglas, GA, sisters; Della Arnold of Waycross, Ga and Shirley Mullinax and husband James of Dillard, GA; grandchildren, Bradley Riddle and wife Trisha, Vanessa and Abbey Riddle and Colton Owens.

Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Saturday, January, 9, 2016 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military honors provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sharing House, 164 Duckworth Ave, Brevard, NC 28712 or to the Transylvania County Honor Guard, 22 Teal Court, Brevard, NC 28712.
