Brevard – John L. Ciriello, beloved husband, son and brother passed away at home on December 11,2021 after a courageous battle with ALS. John was proceeded in death by his father Louis J. Ciriello and his mother Laura Carserino Ciriello, his brother Nicholas G.Ciriello and numerous aunts and uncles . Born in Waterbury, Connecticut he earned his Bachelor's of Science in Business from the University of Connecticut. He had a very successful career in the insurance industry and loved helping his customers. An avid lover of sailing, kayaking and fishing, John loved being on the water. He served on many committees protecting the lakes he cared about. John's real and abiding passions were his wife, Mary Anne, his dog Daisy and his friends and family near and far. John always reached out generously to family and friends. John is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Anne Ciriello, his brother Louis Ciriello and his sister, Patricia Ciriello Mould, his sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Paul Buddenhagen, nieces Caroline Buddenhagen and Eliza Buddenhagen A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Brevard, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in John's name to the New Hampshire Lakes Association and Sharing House in Brevard.
