William Frost 90~ of Etowah passed away on April 3rd at Transylvania Hospital. John was born in Evansville, Indiana to Oscar and Jenny Edson Frost on June 14, 1919. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia Smith Frost, his brother Robert Frost, and a sister Marion Stahelski, He is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and in-laws. John had served in the armed forces. He studied at the Art Institute in Chicago prior to being employed for twelve years by the art studio of Johnstone and Cushing in New York city, followed by an eighteen year career as a magazine gag cartoonist with the Charleton Publishing Co. of Derby, Ct., a leading comic book producer. In addition to working on several nationally syndicated comic strips John did editorial cartoons for newspapers in Connecticut and North Carolina. Services will be held on Thursday April 8th at the Etowah Presbyterian Church with visitations at 1 :OO pm, followed by the church service at 2:00 P.M. and the internment at Pisgah Gardens Cemetery after the service.
