John Wiley Pierce, age 74 of Brevard, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. John was born on September 8, 1944 in Weldon, NC to the late Bixby and Marjorie Dixon Pierce. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a former member of the Brevard Little Theater. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brevard where he had served as Deacon, Sunday School Director, and had taught the singles Bible study for many years. As an employee of Transylvania Regional Hospital for over 30 years as a Respiratory Therapist, he loved his job and his coworkers and helped them meet their needs. He loved his grandchildren and would do anything for them. Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Pierce; daughter, Tricia Pierce Wilson and husband Jacky of Spartanburg, SC; son, John Wiley Pierce of Brevard; five grandchildren, Noah W. Pierce. Zoe Wilson, Jacey Wilson, Ayden W. Pierce, and Meelah Pierce. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 3, 2019 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
