John Maurice Rector Brevard – John Maurice Rector, 78, died September 7, 2014 at Tore's Home. He was the son of the late Howard L. and Pearl Redmond Rector of Madison County and was the husband of the late Mary Anne Bolton Rector. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, TJ Rector. John grew up in Madison County and was a member of Madison Seminary Baptist Church. He move to Transylvania County when he began working at Ecusta where he remained employed for 43 years. John proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He was very active with the Honor Guard for Veterans of Transylvania County. He is survived by a son, Michael John Rector and wife Melissa; daughter, Leigh Anne McJunkin and husband Ken; grandsons, Jason Rector, Jacob, James, and Daniel McJunkin; many special nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Blue Gardens of Memory with military rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Transylvania County Veterans. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Broyhill Children's Home in Clyde, NC.
