John Franklin Roberts Columbus – John Franklin Roberts, 47, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at his home. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of Louis and Judy Roberts Cantrell. He was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Cantrell. John loved fishing and was an avid foosball player. Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife; Betty Brown, sons; Joshua Roberts of Hendersonville, Trent Sherlin of Mars Hill and Thomas Brown of Wilmington, daughter; Angela Hopkins of Columbus, brother; Michael Allan Cantrell and wife Michelle of Hendersonville, sisters; Deborah Parker and husband Jeff of Hendersonville and Linda Neal and husband Jimmy of Hendersonville, granddaughters; Gabrielle Brown and Emily Karnes and many aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John Roberts Trust Fund c/o First Citizens Bank, 96 S. Broad Street, Brevard NC 28712 Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 6pm – 8pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and other times at the parent's home. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
