Obituary for John Paul Rose
4-15-1976 through 2-1-2024
John Paul Rose, who preferred to go by the name of Johnpaul, went to rest in the early morning hours of February 1st, 2024, in his daughter's home where he wanted to be. He was born in Henderson County to parents Vicky Jo Summey and Howard Vance Rose.
Johnpaul lived in Transylvania County and was passionate about laying rock and his family; especially being a grandfather.
Johnpaul was stubborn and as strong as an ox. He could make something work with nothing, was adamant about recycling, and never met a stranger. He loved all kids and making them smile. He was everyone's brother, second dad or PawPaul. He believed in paying it forward, being a good person, and he always chose love. He loved rock n roll especially Metallica, GNR, Ozzy, and southern rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Jr. He loved being outdoors, American muscle, motorcycles, and anything with an engine in it. Johnpaul helped everyone he could, and he would sacrifice himself at any given moment for his kids or loved ones.
He is preceded in death by both parents Vicky and Vance, Pat Holden Lance of French Broad Grocery, his chihuahuas Buddy and Teeniweinie, numerous family members, and lots of friends gone too soon.
He is survived in death by his children Lacie Rose, Gayvn Jones, Jasmine DeRose, and Brandy O'Shields, Brendan Rose; his bestest friend in the whole world and grandson; stepfather, Sam Ramsey and stepfather, Johnny Robinson who raised him as his own and taught him how to be a good man; his brothers, James Robinson, Jeremey Robinson, Howard Rose, and other Rose siblings; nephews Austin Robinson, Clayton Riddle, and Levi, Tyler, and Dylan Rose; nieces, Emily Robinson, Alysia Robinson, Jacqueline Holden, and Nicole Riddle; aunts Marjorie Rose, Racheal Brandt, Acada, Lora, and other aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins.
Johnpaul considered many people his family even if they weren't blood relatives including Tom Lee, who might as well be a brother.
Johnpaul's Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 11th at Quebec Community Center. Anyone who loved and respected him are invited to attend to share memories, stories, and pictures.
