John Thomas Tritt, age 76, of Pisgah Forest went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 31, 2009 after a long battle fighting cancer. He was a native of Transylvania County and a son the late, Robert L. and Dora Jane Smith Tritt. He was also preceded in death by a sister Dora Mae Brown and two brothers Robert Henry and James Von Tritt and a son Brain Keith Tritt.

Mr. Tritt was a vivid trout fisherman, he was retired from Ecusta after 32 years of service and an Army Veteran serving the 3rd Armored Division based in Fort Campbell, KY and stationed in Frankfort, Germany from 1956-1957.

Survivors include; Four sons, Danny Tritt, of Brevard, David Tritt of Mills River, Gary Tritt of Brevard and Larry Tritt of Penrose. Two daughters Lynn Tritt of Pisgah Forest and Debbie Tritt of Georgia. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with Rev Tommy Owen officiating.

Burial will follow in Pisgah Gardens, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Transylvania County Veterans.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 till 9:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
