Brevard – John David Whitmire, 51, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. He was the son of Geneva Javery. He was preceded in death by an infant son. John was employed by Transylvania County EMS, Little River Fire Rescue, Brevard Fire Department and Connestee Fire Department for 30 years. He was very proud to be a paramedic and served in many capacities throughout North Carolina. Transylvania County was blessed to have such a caring, knowledgeable paramedic, friend and servant among their community. In addition to his mom, survivors include his loving wife of 27 years Chloe Nicholson Whitmire; sons, Josh and Trale Whitmire of Brevard; daughter, Sissy Whitmire of Brevard and sister, Annette Driggers Frerking of Tavares, FL. . The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 1pm until 3pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
