Johnny Ray Marshall, of Brevard, went home to be with his Lord Tuesday August 6, 2013 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. He was born January 1, 1955 in Transylvania County to Bob Marshall and the late Ernestine Marshall. Serving as an evangelist, Mr. Marshall loved God, preaching and singing. He also loved his wife, children and his entire family. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Marshall, daughter Alana Marshall and son John Robert Marshall; his father, Bob Marshall, brothers Rev. Randy Marshall and his wife Margie, Jerry Marshall and his wife Stephanie; sisters Darline Pearson and husband Danny, Drema Gilbert and husband Ivan, Demetra Cantrell, Dionna Juzwick, and Fran Etters and husband Chad. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday August 10, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Norton officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral home.
