Johnny Lewis Strickland Pisgah Forest – Johnny Lewis Strickland, 78, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Abby and Rosetta McCall Strickland. He was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Lance Duncan, and a special cousin, Charlie Galloway. Mr. Strickland was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are his children, Shirley Strickland of Pisgah Forest and David Strickland of Brevard; grandchildren, Reba Akers, Jennifer Griffin and husband Matthew, Matthew Delcueto, Susanna Strickland, Charles David Strickland, Justin Wade Strickland, Melissa Strickland, Amanda Corn,and Kimberly Rose Strickland; 12 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Geneva Galloway; many other family members from Wilson, NC. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Owen and Rev. Dan Dellinger officiating. Burial will be in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
