Jonathan Michael Overman, 41, passed away on July 29, 2025, in Laurel Park, NC. Born on October 30, 1983, Jonathan was a man of many skills and a good-hearted soul, and is tremendously missed.

Jonathan was known for his intelligence, talent, and a quiet, understanding presence. He had a sweet smile and a natural ability to connect with others. A gifted athlete, he enjoyed baseball in his youth (who could forget that home run?) and later embraced activities such as in-line skating, frisbee golf, and snowboarding. He also had a creative side, he learned to play the guitar and he was an extremely talented cook.

Professionally, Jonathan began his career cooking at a local restaurant and painting houses alongside his father, eventually advancing to an assistant manager role at a local paint store. His dedication and expertise eventually led him to establish his own successful paint contracting business. His diligence and conscientious nature ensured the success of his endeavors from the very start.

Jonathan had a deep love for animals and rescued several throughout his life. Among them was his cherished black cat Ryder, whom he famously taught to shake hands—which is pretty cool if you've ever seen him do it.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Overman. He is survived by his mother, Jeannette; sisters Jennifer and Jeanne-Marie; nieces and nephews Ethan, Sophia, Rohan, Audra, and Kora; as well as Ryder.
