Jonathan Douglas Owen Hendersonville – Jonathan Douglas Owen, 42, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Owen was born on August 10, 1970 in Washington, NC. He moved with his parents to Holton, KS when he was four years old and resided there for 30 years before moving back to Brevard. He was a 1988 graduate of Holton High School, Holton KS, and was a graduate of the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK. He attended Selica United Methodist Church, Brevard. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease in 2002 and had been in declining health ever since. He had been a resident of Country Meadows Nursing Home in Hendersonville. Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his father, Roger Hall Owen, maternal grandfather, Avery Barton, and paternal grandfather, Hall L. Owen. Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Barton Owen Patterson and husband Maechel of Brevard; brother, Brian W. Owen of Brevard, maternal grandmother, Emma Barton Hinkle and husband Bob of Sapphire; paternal grandmother, Reba Price Owen of Brevard; two aunts, one niece and one nephew. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am Saturday May 18, 2013 at Selica United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ann Self officiating.
