Joyce Elaine Powell Reese Brevard – Joyce Elaine Powell Reese, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Roman and Ressie Whitmire Powell. Joyce was a member of East Fork Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She devoted much of her time helping others and praying for them. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Avery Reese; one son, Jeremy Reese and wife Vanessa of Wilmington, NC, daughters; Stephanie Tesnow and husband Chris of Rosman and Emily Jones and husband Mike of Rosman, sisters; Betty Landreth and husband Bill, Mary Jane Reese and husband Gerald, Genis Sue "Susie" Reese and husband Howard and Rita Whitlock and husband Mark, grandchildren; Blake and wife Chelsea, Neil, Collin, Avery, Quinn and Sawyer. The memorial service celebrating the life of Joyce will be held 5pm, Friday, February 13, 2015 at East Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Tankersley officiating.
