Junius McKinnley Mashburn, 77, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2013 at his residence.
A native of Graham County, NC, he was the son of the late Marvin Vincent Mashburn and Jessie Thomas Mashburn. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Vincent and Phil Mashburn.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a man who always had a smile on his face and he loved everyone he met. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mr. Mashburn was a veteran of the U. S. Army, retired from Olin Corp, and was a member of Enon Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was an honest and genuine man.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Mashburn; daughter, Julie Simpson and husband Nicky of Penrose; son, Mark Mashburn of Warrenton, GA; daughter-in-law, Mary Mashburn of Pisgah Forest; sisters, Ruth Watson and husband Daryl, and Marie Peeve and husband Ray all of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Jordan Sherman, and Benjamin and Kevin Mashburn.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Madden and Rev. Allen Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
Memorials may be made to Enon Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
