Katherine "Kathy" Louise Lee, 79 years old, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2025. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family and dear friends.

Kathy was the devoted wife of 58 years to Russell Lee, and the proud mother of Amy Duvall and Laura Beynon. She was "Mamaw" to her treasured grandchildren—Gavin Duvall, Preslee, Mason, and Finley Beynon—who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by her loving sister, Sharon Reeves, her brothers Jay and Ray Cowick, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends who were blessed to know her.

A lifelong educator, Kathy dedicated her career to teaching in the Florida public school system and later as an adjunct college  professor in the Education Department at the University of West Florida. She touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with her wisdom, patience, and genuine care.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. An active member of Cove Church in Brevard, NC, she served as  Cove Shelter board member and volunteer, always finding ways to help those in need. To her community, she was a beacon of light and encouragement. Kathy had a gift for making everyone feel like her best friend, and her greatest legacy was her unwavering love for the Lord. She was always ready with a prayer, a word of comfort, or a reminder of God's faithfulness.

Kathy's family finds comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of the Savior she loved so deeply, and they will carry her light in their hearts forever.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Cove Church, 40 Nicholson Creek Rd, Brevard, NC, with a reception to follow at the church. All who knew and loved Kathy are welcome to attend and honor her memory.
