Kelsey Renee McGaha passed away at age 29 at her home in Brevard, North Carolina on March 18th, 2023.

Kelsey was born on March 28th, 1993, in Brevard, to Mark and Connie McGaha. She had one brother, Daniel, who is married to Brittany. She was a graduate of Rosman High School's Class of 2011, and a proud graduate of Campbell University in 2015 (Roll Humps!) – in fact, after a brief stint living near Winston-Salem, she moved back to her beloved Alma Mater and gladly served as a Senior Admissions Counselor for Campbell University. She made many students feel at home at Campbell and built lasting friendships with admissions counselors from other universities.

She moved back to her hometown of Brevard in November of 2020, and she was proud to be from Brevard. She loved this area and was especially fond of her Connect group at Biltmore's Brevard campus.

Kelsey spent much of her college and young adult years as an older "sister" to her cousin Madi. Kelsey was so proud to have grown up with Madi.

Her greatest joy in this life was her dog, Copper. She and Copper loved to go on Jeep rides and all kinds of adventures. She rescued Copper from the Transylvania County Animal Shelter in April of 2019, but she always told people that he rescued her.

She was a faithful believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, and though our sorrow in this earthly parting is deep, we rejoice that the time we are apart is only a vapor in comparison to the time we will spend together in eternity, worshipping our sovereign Lord.

Kelsey is survived by her parents, Mark and Connie, her brother and sister-in-law Daniel and Brittany, and her best friend Copper. On her mother's side, she is survived by her grandfather, Joe Whitmire (Carole), Aunt Amy (Michael Ball), Uncle Vaughn (Sandy), and cousins Brandon, Megan (Tim Smith), and Madi. On her father's side, Kelsey is survived by her grandmother, Jenny, Uncle Dean (Jennifer), and cousins Emily, Gabrielle, Avery, Emery, Lindsey, and Zachary.

Kelsey was preceded in death by her Nana, Mattie Whitmire, Papaw, Gene McGaha, Aunt Lois, and cousins Eric and Cody.

A memorial service for Kelsey will be held at Biltmore Church's Brevard campus on Thursday, March 23rd at 4pm. Rev. Sean Bass and Rev. Tyler Littrell will officiate.
