Kenneth Lee McGarvey Brevard – Kenneth Lee McGarvey, 57, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Kenny was born in Columbus, OH but most recently lived in Brevard, NC, a place he really loved. He attended Westland High School in Columbus, OH and after graduating in 1976, he join the US Army and served his country as a medic. After an honorable discharge, he returned to Columbus to attend Columbus Technical Institute (Columbus State Community College) graduating with a nursing degree. After moving to NC, he continued his nursing career and most recently worked for Park Ridge Hospital. He met his late wife lMary while living in Brevard. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jeffrey McGarvey. He loved his cats which he called his kids. They are currently adoptable at the Transylvania County Humane Society. Kenneth is survived by his parents Roy and Sue McGarvey of Columbus, OH; one older brother, Steven McGarvey of Columbus, OH and a sister; Pamela McGarvey and husband Tom Ottey of Big Pine Key, FL.
