Kenneth Wayne "Smitty" Smith went home to be with the Lord at home December 15, 2022.

He was born in Piedmont, SC to the late Reverend Sampson and Mary Lavender Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Leonard "Lenny" Smith and wife, Alice Faye Smith.

Being raised in South Carolina, he graduated from Rock Hill High School. He completed an electrical apprenticeship at Charleston Naval Shipyard where he continued in the Supervisory of Ship (SupShip) building as planning and cost estimator until the Charleston Naval Shipyard closed. He later retired from Metal Trades as a facility manager to Lake Toxaway, NC.

He is survived by son, Ken Smith, Jr. (Carol), three grandsons, Ean (Samantha), Zachary and Joshua Smith; sister, Lynda Smith Daniel of Charleston, SC, niece, Valerie Holder Scott (James) and nephew, Greg Holder (Patricia).

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, December 19, 2022 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Jeff Turner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
