Elder Larry A. Harris
Brevard – Elder Larry A. Harris, sunrise: February 10, 1927, sunset: May 2, 2015.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Larry and Julia Harris, his wife; Maggie Harris, four brothers; Charles, Ralph, William, Robert; his sisters; May L. Glass and Nell Harris.
He was born in Brevard to the late Larry and Julia Harris. He grew up in Brevard and found his lovely wife Maggie and they married on November 4, 1947. They were married for 67 years. Larry and Maggie moved to Dayton, OH in 1950. After retiring from General Motors with over 30 service in Dayton, OH, they returned to Brevard. Upon their return to Brevard, they established Open Bible Church of God in Christ(C.O.G.I.C.) in 1984.
He is survived by seven children; Larry and special daughter in law Ola, Harold and wife Carol, Harry and wife Lorene, Laura and husband Jessie, Marsha, Michael and wife Lydia and Charles; 24 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A special thanks to grandson Matthew Moore and wife Laura. A very special thank you to the Transylvania Regional Hospital Staff, Hospice and Homecare Nurse Heather.
Funeral services will be held 11am, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Bethel A Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 930am prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be C.J. Harris, Chad Harris, Michael Harris, Curtis Harris, Maurice Harris and Craig Harris. Honorary pallbearer will be William Norman. Serving as flower bearers will be Tara Robinson, Julia Robinson, Camice Hamlett, Latava Jenkins, Crystal Harris, Alisia Harris, Katrin Mooney and Rhonda Waters.
