Leigh Ann (Lusk) Goforth, 57, of Asheville, NC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, after a short battle with aggressive cancer.

A native of Transylvania County, Leigh Ann was the only daughter of Gerald and the late Minnie Julia "Judy" (Landreth) Lusk.

She was born on October 11, 1967, in Brevard, NC. She attended Brevard High School where she enjoyed the health occupations program and being a member of the school chorus. After her graduation in 1985, she worked as a CNA for several years before leaving the paid workforce to focus her efforts on raising and homeschooling her daughters.

Leigh Ann was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. She had a love for baking, gospel singing, and Tarheel sports. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, warm smile, love of God, and unwavering devotion to her girls.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy, and her grandparents, Ernest and Corynne (Penley) Lusk and Russell and Kathleen (Metcalf) Landreth.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Goforth, beloved daughters, Anna, Emily, and Katie Goforth, father, Gerald (Etta) Lusk of Etowah, NC, brothers, Kevin (Lisa) Lusk of Asheville, NC, Cary Lusk of Atlanta, GA, and Kyle (Lindsey) Lusk of Brevard, NC, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Forge Valley Baptist Church, 7490 Boylston Highway, Mills River, NC., with  Rev. Wayne Owen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Turkey Creek Cemetery, Hudlin Gap Road, Pisgah Forest, NC.
