Lake Toxaway – Leigh Ann Whitman Leonard, 52, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Whitman. She was preceded in death by her daughter; Anna Leonard and grandmother; Mabel Kimbrell. Leigh Ann was a devoted mother. She cared for many children as if they were her own. She had many extended family including nieces and nephews whom she adored. Survivors include her husband of 33 years; Doug Leonard , mother; Patricia Whitman of Lake Toxaway, father in law and mother in law; Ron and Judy Leonard of Selbyville, DE, brothers; Freddie Whitman and wife Marianne of Rosman and Larry Whitman and wife Crystal of Rosman. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anna Leonard Scholarship Fund at Wells Fargo Bank in Brevard.
