Balsam Grove - Leona Florence McCall age 72, stepped into her heavenly home Monday, July 31, 2023.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents Ward McCall and Mattie Owen McCall, her brother Daniel(Dee) McCall, and sister Martha Taylor.

She was a member of Cathey's Creek Baptist Church where she donated much of her time in service to the church and enjoyed worshiping the Lord. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother. To her church family and friends she was "Leona" but to her grandchildren she was "Meme". The easiest way to gain a smile from her was to ask about or mention any of her 4 grandkids.

Once she retired from factory work and self employment, she dedicated much of her life around spending time with her grandchildren. She worked tirelessly and unselfishly to enrich and bless the lives of those she loved. She found happiness in doing acts of kindness or service for her neighbors, friends, and relatives. She was thoughtful and forthcoming with her affections. Leona spent much of her time in her vegetable and flower gardens where she produced food and beauty from spring to winter.

Suvivors include two sons, Anthony W Vaughn II and wife Sharon; Mark T Vaughn and wife Nickie; four very special grandchildren, Serena Vaughn Graham and husband Hunter, Uriah Vaughn, Kole Vaughn, and Adaya Vaughn, four siblings, Frenda Austin, David W. McCall, Farris McCall & Deloris Owen.

She was a loving sister, Mother, Meme and friend she will be missed and remembered always for her strength in character, faithfulness in love and her ability to make each person with whom she spent time feel special.

A Celebration of life and receiving of friends will be held at Cathey's Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 1:00pm followed by a service at 2pm. The burial will take place at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.
