Penrose - Leona Allison Zachary 91 entered her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

A native of Transylvania county. She was born on March 20, 1932 to Ernest Eugene Allison and Sally Huggins Allison. In addition to he parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Logan Zachary, five infants, and a brother John Allison.

She loved working in her flower gardens and spending time with her family. Her family and friends treasured her love and her prayers. She was always available to pray and take request before the Lord. She loved her Savior fervently and was a wonderful example to so many. She was a member of Cedar Mountain Baptist church.

Survivors include children Laura (Larry) Bryson, Gene (Melanie)Zachary, David (Kelly) Zachary, Marta, (John) Toney, brother Wayne(Jewel) Allison, and nephew Edward Allison

Grandchildren Heather Moore, Sally Bryson, Melissa, McCoy, Ashley Lavery, Logan Zachary, and Dylan Zachary, great grandchildren,  Kaitlyn Schmidt, Grace Griffin, Jaxin Shelton, Cody Shelton, Sawyer McCoy, Jacob Lavery, Onalee Lavery, Rachel Moore, and Jordan Moore.

We would like to express our gratitude to Care Partners Josh Whitmire and Care Partners Hospice team Kayla Reese, Diane, Denise, and Callie. The care she received was exceptional. She loved and appreciated each one of them.

Graveside services were held 3pm, Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Davidson River Cemetery.
