Leroy Holden, age 85, of Easley, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Lottie Brown Holden. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vera Sherwood Holden, October 8, 2009. One son Butch Holden and a granddaughter Stacey Holden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include; One son, Bobby Holden, and wife Beverly of Easley, SC. One daughter Vickie Banks, and husband Wayne of Easley. One brother, Bud Holden of Greer, SC. One sister Margaret Holden of Brevard. Seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with Rev's Jeffery Hunt and Tommy Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Gardens, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Transylvania County Veterans. The family will receive friends from 2:00 till 3:00 PM Monday prior to the services.
