Lester John Brown of Etowah died Thursday March 31, 2011 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. He was born August 21,1920 in Haywood County to the late Floyd and Velma Holt Brown, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Stella Hipps Brown. Mr. Brown was retired from Ecusta and a U.S. Army Veteran. Survivors include three sons; Johnny Mack Brown of Fletcher, Joel Kay Brown and Robert L. Brown both of Etowah, one daughter; Velma Rogers of Etowah, two brothers Chrales Brown of Rich Mountain and Frank Brown of Rosman, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday April 4, 2011 at 2:00pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Brian Henderson. Interment will follow at Pisgah Gardens with Military Honors.
