Mills River – Lester Elliott English, 98, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock, NC. A lifelong resident of the Boylston Community, he was the son of the late Weldon and Alice Cagle English. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie, Harvey, Henry, Lee, Neal, John, and Tom English, and sisters, Myrtle E. Anderson, Rachel English, and Louise E. Wilkie. Mr. English was a farmer and his family was well known for their homemade molasses. Surviving are his nieces, Sandy E. Hoxit and husband Paul, Ruth B. English, Betty W. Justus, and Linda "Lyn" Wilkie; nephew, F. E, "Jud" Wilkie and several other nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Bobby Grant and family. The graveside service will be held at 11 am Friday, December 7, 2012 at Boylston Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Burress officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Friday at Boylston Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boylston Baptist Church Building Fund.
