Lester (Les) Denny Kohler passed away December 9, 2025 at the Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville, NC

Lester was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and was the son of Percy Dio Kohler and Delphia Umphlett Kohler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Percy Dio Kohler, his Mother Delphia West, son John Kohler, sister Janice Wright, brother Paul Kohler and step-sister Susan Wright.

Lester proudly served in the US navy and then began working for RCA. He lived and worked in many locations including South America. He transferred to Brevard from Alaska to work at the NASA Satellite Tracking Station. He was also employed at Bendix Corporation, and Raytheon as an electrical engineer. He also worked at Olin/PH Glatfelter in the Research and Development Department. He later became a Real Estate agent in Transylvania County. He enjoyed photography and took many beautiful photos wherever he went. He was always willing to help anyone who had computer issues.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Kohler, brother John Kohler, granddaughter, Shannon Kohler-Culver (Zach), great granddaughers, Melanie and Jade Culver, and special nephew Larry Blythe, and many other nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 2pm, Monday, December 15, 2025 at Moody Connolly Funeral Home with pastor Brad Snipes officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
