Lewis Ray Murr Sr., age 74 of Brevard, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 8th, 2023.

Lewis was preceded in death by his wife Elsa Jean Owen Murr. He is survived by his three children: Ray Murr and wife Dawn of Pisgah Forest, Anita Stamey and husband Brian of Rose Hill, and Chris Murr and wife Angie of Brevard.

Lewis was also preceded in death by his brother Daniel Murr and Parents Frank Murr and Lois Gillespie Murr. He is also survived by his sister Maryann Hamilton. In addition, he had 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Lewis was a friendly and outgoing person. He never met a stranger and loved to talk with everyone. He had a love for classic cars and enjoyed fishing.

.Graveside services will be at 12:45 pm on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Rev. Leo Bracken officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am to 12:pm Monday at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
