Linda Marie Rogers Queen, 75, of Brevard, NC, won her final victory when she passed through death over into eternal life on Sunday, July 18, 2021. She is (not was!) a Child of the One True and Living God and a Joint-Heir with His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, since the day of her salvation on February 20, 1972. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Sylvia (Wheatley) Rogers of Cullowhee, NC, who preceded her in death, along with 2 infant sisters, Ethel Laurene Rogers and Shirley Faye Rogers. She was a native of Jackson County, NC, a 1964 graduate of Cullowhee High School, and attended Western Carolina University. Linda is survived by a loving husband, Keith Queen, with whom she shared an incredible love story, including over 55 years of wonderful marriage, and who stayed close by her side until she let go of his hand and took the hand of Jesus; one sister and best friend, Sheila Rogers Long, and husband Gene of Hendersonville, NC; a daughter, Lisa Queen Johnson and husband Matt of Conway, SC; two sons, Trevor Queen of Brevard, and Jeremy Queen along with wife Julie of Brevard. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kasey Queen Shook and husband Andrew of Pisgah Forest, NC, Cody and Dillon Johnson of Conway, SC, Destiny Queen of Brevard, NC, Brian Hollifield of Mt. Vernon, OH, and Becca and Daniel Queen of Brevard, NC; along with two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Lucas Shook of Pisgah Forest. She also leaves behind several sisters and brothers-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Ms. Linda held the very highest of positions. Although in 75 years she never worked a public job, she was a faithful wife, loving mother, spoiling grandmother, and a homemaker. She babysat for dozens of children, who all called her "Memaw" just like her very own grandkids. Above all, she was a mighty Soldier of the Cross, and a great one at that! She was a faithful member of the Rosman Baptist Tabernacle, a congregation that she thought of as close family. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m., and a Home-Going Celebration of Life will be held at the Rosman Baptist Tabernacle on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be held following the Celebration service, where the family will receive friends.
