Balsam Grove Linville Hubert (L.H.) Owen, age 71 of Balsam Grove went to be with the Lord Wednesday January 13th, 2010. He was a native of Transylvania county and the son of the late Conway M. and Louise Hall Owen. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Bill Owen. He was a member of Woods Memorial Baptist Church and was retired from The US Forest Service. Survivors include his wife Margaret Owen of Balsam Grove NC, one son Tony Owen and wife Nancy of Elberton GA, one daughter Tonya Deter and husband John of Ft. Collins CO, two brothers, Truette Owen of Tuckasegee NC and Verlin Ray Owen of Easley SC, three sisters, Louella McCall of Easely SC, Sylvia Galloway and Velva Childeress both of Balsam Grove NC., three grandchildren, Kandi Sanders of Flowery Branch GA, Jessica Lowe of Rosman NC, and Jennifer McGraw of Ft. Collins CO, one great-grandson, Adam Sanders and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be held Saturday January 16th, 2010 at 11:00am in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Reverends Tommy Owen and Devon Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30pm Friday evening at the Funeral Home.
