Lisa Ann Turner Sorrells, 64, of Arden, North Carolina, went to her heavenly home on May 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her sister’s home after a courageous 16-year battle with brain cancer.
Born on July 22, 1961, in Brevard, North Carolina, Lisa was the daughter of Stanley and Jimmie Turner of Etowah, North Carolina.
Lisa dedicated more than 30 years of her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Mission Hospital. She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Biltmore Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years. Her faith remained a constant source of strength throughout her life.
Above all else, Lisa loved her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children, nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.
Lisa was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jennifer; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her parents, Stanley and Jimmie Turner of Etowah, North Carolina; her daughters, Ashley Sorrells of Arden, North Carolina, and Meagan Sorrells of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina; her sister, Lynn King of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina; her brother, Brad Turner of Statesville, North Carolina; as well as her nieces Steffanie, Jessica, Lindsey, Elizabeth, and Maiying, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing that Lisa is now celebrating in Heaven with those who went before her.
A graveside service will be held on June 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, Duke’s Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, or a charity of your choice.
