Lloyd Shupe, 72, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Arbor Terrace, Asheville, NC. Born in Glenville, MD, he was the son of the late Illie and Helen Smith Shupe and was the husband of the late L. Carolyn Shupe who died on September 22, 2009. Mr. Shupe was a retired Vice-President of Allied-Signal Corp., was retired from Bendix Field Engineering Corp., and had been a Vice-President and Director of the Department of Defense Space and Communications Operations. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a life member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Brevard Elks Lodge #1768, a member of Glen Cannon Country Club, and was a member of the American Legion Post #88. Surviving are his daughters, Debra Sanders and husband Wade of Brevard; Donna Smith and husband Dean of Arden; brothers, William Shupe and wife Shirley of Dunnellon, FL, and Carl Dean Shupe of Bel Air, MD; sisters, Wanda Brewer of Aberdeen, MD, and Shelvia DeBord and husband John of Abingdon, MD; grandchildren, Chrissy Sanders of Rosman, Jennie Smith of Charlotte, and Matthew Smith of Boone; great grandchildren, Dalton and Ashton Sanders of Rosman.
