Lois Rose Hendrix, a devoted wife, mother, and servant of the Lord, passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 81 surrounded by family. Born on August 8, 1944 to Charles Brenson and Alvie Messer Rose, in Haywood County, Waynesville, Lois lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.
Lois married her beloved husband, Dwight Raymond Hendrix, on June 21, 1964, and together they shared nearly 45 years of marriage, raising three beautiful children: Anthony, Kimberly, and Melisa. Her faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life, and she ministered to many people, spreading His love and kindness wherever she went. After Dwight's passing in 2008, Lois continued to shine her light, serving others with compassion and care.
Lois spent 21 years serving the residents of College Walk Retirement Home as Head Cook, retiring in 2008. Her passion for cooking and caring for others brought nourishment to both body and soul.
In addition to her family and work, Lois loved two things dearly: her faith in the Lord and her flowers. Her garden was a reflection of her beautiful spirit, and her love for the Lord guided her every step. She was a member of Morning Side Baptist Church for many years, touching countless lives to plant seeds of faith.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Hendrix, and Daughter Kimberly Norton. Brothers Bob, Lawrence, Charlie, and Arthur Rose. Sisters Baby Lucy Rose, Macie Birchfield, Lizzie Burgess, Pearl Franklin.
