Lola "Mae" Glazener, 88, of Brevard, NC went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 05, 2019. Mae was born on August 6, 1931 in the Dunn's Rock community to the late Houston B. Glazener and Bernice Hogsed Glazener. In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her infant son, Randal Lee Glazener; 2 sisters, Dallas Glazener Reed and Bonnie Glazener Holden Nix; and 4 brothers, Edgar Glazener, James Glazener, Alvin Glazener (infant) and Roland Glazener. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Glazener Beck (J Sr.) of Brevard; granddaughter Stephanie Franklin of Wilmington, NC; sister, Shirley Glazener Moon (Bill) of Monteagle, TN; step-grandchildren J Beck, Jr. (Pam) of Oxford, NC, T.L. Beck of Creedmoor, NC and Jeanne Beck Pulley (J.T.) of Franklinton, NC. Nephews include Wayne Glazener (Alma) of Santa Fe, NM; Harold Glazener (Patsy) of Beech Island, SC; Garry Glazener (Suzie) of Jackson, SC and Billy Moon (Kathy) of Pelham, TN. Nieces include Ann Cassell (Ben) of Cumming, GA and Amanda Kay Glazener McIver (Donny) of Jackson, SC. Mae worked in various positions within retail stores in Brevard, such as Western Auto, Family Dollar and Walmart. Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Crematory, 181 S. Caldwell St. in Brevard, NC, is serving the family. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 in the chapel, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the Connestee Cemetery near Dunn's Rock Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the Pardee hospital nursing staff for their loving care of Mae and family during her final days, as well as Dr. AbuMoussa, who served as Mae's physician for over 25 years and provided exceptional care for her as his patient. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mae can be made to the Pardee Hospital Foundation for the Comfort Cart program.
