Brevard – Lola Wood, age 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Lola, a homemaker, was a lifelong resident of Transylvania County, born to the late Obie Simpson Fisher and Leota Corn Fisher. She was also preceded in death by her son, James T. Wood, Jr. Survivors include her husband, James T. Wood, Sr., 4 grandchildren, Michelle Blackwell (Danny), Karen Wood, Michael Wood (Crystal) and Tommy Wood, 8 great great grandchildren and 3 great, great, great grandchildren. Graveside services will be Saturday, July 3 at 2:30 pm at Woods Memorial Cemetery.
