Penrose - Loretta Anders Whitmire passed on Friday, July 16, 2021 after a long struggle with Lewy body dementia with Parkinsons.

She was born August 29, 1938 in Gloucester township in Transylvania county to the late Parmer and Ethel Anders. She is also preceded in death by her husband Ted Whitmire and sister Donna McCall.

Loretta was a long time member of Little River Baptist Church where she loved taking care of and nurturing the children. She was a proud gardener and loved her flowers and the mountains out her window.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Wehrle and husband Tom and son Rich Whitmire and wife Debra, brothers, Bob Anders and wife Carolyn, Kenneth Anders and wife Martha, Dennis Anders and wife Phyliss and sister, Rita Ashe and husband John.

The family would like to thank her care givers. We could not have given Mom the care she deserved without you. You all are a blessing. Four Seasons Hospice also gave great care to Mom, and support to the family.

A graveside service will be held 1pm, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Blue Ridge Garden of Memory with the Rev. Mark Reynolds officiating.
