Louise was a stay at home mom until her oldest child graduated from high school. She then started working at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, and became Head Cashier there, retiring after sixteen years. She was a voracious reader, a Bible scholar, a fierce Scrabble competitor, and a dependable friend and confidant. In 1999, Louise moved to Brevard, where she became an associate member of First United Methodist Church. She resided at College Walk Retirement Community for 13 years, and at Tore's home for the last year.
