Lucy Evatt Norton Pisgah Forest – Lucy Evatt Norton, 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Luther and Mena Hughes Evatt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Tillman Evatt, J. B. Evatt, Louie Evatt, Clarence Evatt, Sylvia Stone, Inez Evatt and Franklin Evatt. Lucy was a great cook and was very creative. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. She dearly loved her church and family. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Luther Norton, daughter, Teresa Yarns and husband Bob Yarns of Ellijay, GA, son, Dr. Douglas Norton and wife Katy Friggle-Norton of Havertown, PA, grandchildren, Hannah Norton, Jacob Norton and wife Caitlin Norton and Dr. Brandon Yarns. A funeral service will be held 1pm, Friday, December 12, 2014 with the Rev. Raymond Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
