Brevard – Lyndon Donald Moore, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 26, 2016. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Norman and Mary Jane Hoxit Moore. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Alvin Owen and brother-in-law, Shuford Cagle. Mr. Moore was a member of Charley's Creek Baptist Church. His favorite pastime was "making music", especially playing "Wildwood Flower". Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Christeen Gibson Moore; daughter, Linda Moore Young and husband Hale of Pisgah Forest; sister, Vernoy Cagle of Gainsville, FL; grandchildren, McKinsey Young of Asheville and Matt Young and wife Ashley of Columbus, GA; great-granddaughter, Caroline Young of Columbus, GA; several nieces and nephews he loved dearly and many friends. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Charley's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Devon Owen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Tuesday at the church.
