Mabrey Holloway Cason, 77, passed away peacefully on September 11th at her home in Sapphire, NC. The daughter of the late James Jackson and Sara Thomas Holloway. She was predeceased by her infant brother, James Jackson Holloway, Jr. Mabrey was born in Macon, GA on November 28, 1943 where she grew up and graduated from A L Miller High School for Girls in 1961. She went on to attend Woman's College of Georgia in Milledgeville, GA where she met her husband, William (Bill) Cason and they were married at Cherokee Heights Baptist Church in Macon, GA on October 26, 1963. Mabrey and Bill moved to Atlanta, GA and there they raised 3 children. In addition to raising her children, she was the Office Manager at the Atlanta office for Forbes Magazine. She then went on to start her own business, Gift Basket Originals by Mabrey. Mabrey and Bill retired to Sapphire Valley, NC (1999) where she volunteered at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital Foundation. Mabrey was best known for her hospitality and concern for everyone. She was always making a special meal for someone. She was a true hostess, always welcoming people into her home whether it be a wedding or baby shower or a neighbor stopping by after work who would stay for a meal. She never met a stranger. Mabrey had a kind heart with an abundance of love for her family and compassion for others. She is survived by her husband, Bill, her children, Michael Cason (Pamela) of Garner, NC, Jeffrey Cason (Cherie) of Johns Creek, GA and Jennifer Moore (Jason) of Braselton, GA, and her grandchildren, Blake (Hannah) Cason, Tyler Cason, Christian Cason, Jeffrey Cason, Gabriella Cason, Cason Moore, Thomas Moore, her sister, Margaret Tillander (Virgil), and her brother, Roland Holloway (Vickie), and nieces and nephews Tammy Johnson and Britt Sowell, Trey Tillander (Marilyn), Holly Palmer (Michael), Jeff Holloway (Denise), Mark Holloway (Hollie), and grandnieces and grandnephews Kenlin Johnson, Taylor Tillander, Trevor Tillander, Grant Tillander, Ethan Palmer, Sara Palmer, Ryan Holloway, Mason Holloway, Rebecca Holloway, and Marshall Holloway. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Sunday, October 3rd 1:30p.m. At Chestnut Mountain Church, 4903 Chestnut Mountain Circle, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 in the Chapel.
